LEIGHTON BAINES is Everton FC’s sole representative in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2012.

The Kirkby-born left-back has won seven caps for his country since making his full debut against Egypt in March 2010 and is joined in the squad by former Goodison stars Wayne Rooney, Joleon Lescott and John Ruddy

Four Liverpool players – Steven Gerrard (who has been named captain), Glen Johnson, Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll are in the squad with Reds midfielder Jordan Henderson among the five players named on standby.

As reported overnight, former England captain Rio Ferdinand has been omitted while John Terry is in the squad – uncapped Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a surprise inclusion in attack.
