Friday’s Daily Mail is linking Everton with a season-long loan swoop for Barcelona ‘wonderkid’ Gerard Deulofeo.

The Blues are said to be competing with Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal for the 19-year-old who scored 18 goals in 33 matches for Barca’s ‘B’ team last season.

The same story is reported in the Daily Mirror, who claim that the Catalan giants want to send the youngster out on loan so that he returns to the club as a more ‘mature’ player.

The article also mentions yesterday’s appointments of Graeme Jones, Inaki Bergara, Kevin Reeves and Richard Evans to Roberto Martinez’s backroom team.

The Express claims another of Martinez’s staff at Wigan, Dennis Lawrence, is also set to head to Everton.

Another player whose name continues to be linked with a move to Goodison Park is Arouna Kone.

The Guardian report on Newcastle’s interest in the striker, as well as the Daily Star who say that the Magpies are ‘attempting to hijack’ Kone’s transfer to Everton after having a £6.5million bid for the 29-year-old accepted.

The Liverpool Echo, however, say that Everton remain in pole position to secure his signature.
