SYLVAIN Distin has warned that Everton FC must get used to their hectic schedule if they are to realise their Wembley dream.

The Blues’ 1-1 draw with Sunderland in their FA Cup quarter final means they must now travel to the North East for a replay next Tuesday, to decided who will face Liverpool in the last four at Wembley in April.

Distin was one of a few Everton players who featured in every one of the Blues three games in the last seven days, but David Moyes rested six of his squad for their derby defeat last Tuesday, and the defender believes the squad must quickly adjust to their gruelling schedule.

Everton play Arsenal on Wednesday, and then Swansea away at the Liberty stadium before their replay, and the Frenchman said: “It’s physically tough but that’s why we have all the great physios to help us recover between games.

“That’s the most important when you’ve got games together like this.

“All together it’s going to be seven games in three weeks, and all you can do is recover and make the most of the three days between games. You can’t train much, you have to rest your legs and go for massages and ice baths. But so far, so good.

“We’ve only got a small squad but we’ve got a lot of quality, and it’s up to the manager to make decisions on whether he rests people or not.”
