Roberto Martinez wants a new centre-back and Everton FC have been linked with them in today’s press.
The Mirror believe the Blues are closing in on a deal to bring Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann to Goodison Park.
The paper claims Dann was monitored by scouts from Goodison Park throughout an impressive season with the Eagles, with club chiefs are hopeful they could now tie-up a deal in the coming weeks.
The experienced Dann, 28, is the club captain at Selhurst Park and has two years remaining on his Palace deal.
He was also voted Palace’s Player of the Year after some excellent performances.

Jonny Evans, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move to Merseyside with the Daily Star expecting him to move to Everton for £5m.
The paper claims Martinez will face competition from Tottenham, Aston Villa and possibly Sunderland, where he was twice on loan when Roy Keane was manager at the Stadium of Light.
Evans would prefer to remain in the north as his wife Helen is due to return to her job at MUTV after having a baby. That should strengthen Everton’s hand as the Evans family would not then have to uproot from the North West.
