Moyes back in for Blues pair as Martinez eyes PSG star as potential Fellaini replacement
Everton FC pair Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines are set to be subject of a £40m bid from Manchester United as David Moyes steps up his push to raid his former club.
Blues chairman Bill Kenwright has been more than willing to finance moves to bring in a number of players Roberto Martinez has targeted in the knowledge that in all likelihood Everton would have to relent and accept offers for two players who are said to be keen to move on.
In related news Fellaini’s proposed move to Arsenal won’t go through because Arsene Wenger is more concerned about signing a striker.
Fellaini’s £23.5m release clause expires on the 15th August and the 25-year-old fears that if Arsenal haven’t signed a new striker by that point, then he’ll miss out on what they say is his ‘dream’ move to north London.
In other Everton transfer news, the Blues have abandoned their interest in Chelsea forward Victor Moses as Roberto Martinez mulls over a move for Paris St Germain midfielder Clement Chantome.
Finally, Norwich City have agreed a deal in principle for Toby Alderweireld with Everton waiting in the wings should the deal fall through.
