Everton could face a struggle to land Guilherme Siqueira after Real Madrid joined the chase for the Granada star.

It was reported last week that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez had targeted the 27-year-old as speculation continues to surround the future of Leighton Baines, who is wanted by Manchester United.

Left-back Siqueira, who can also play in midfield, has seen his stock grow following his impressive displays for Granada, where he has scored 12 league goals over the last two seasons.

Real have opened negotiations with Granada over a move for the Brazil-born defender, who was the subject of a failed £3.4m bid from Everton last week.

Meanwhile, Everton are readying a bid for Manchester City misfit Scott Sinclair after entering the race to sign the former England under-21 international.

In related Everton transfer news, Cardiff City are launching an ambitious bid for Toulouse midfielder and Blues target Etienne Capoue. Everton are also thought to be pondering a move for Norway Under-21 international Abdisalam Ibrahim who has been handed a free transfer by Manchester City.
