DAVID Moyes has insisted he is in no mood to walk out on Everton FC and quit football this summer.

While speculation continues that the Blues boss could yet be tempted to another club, Moyes maintains he will not follow Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola’s example and take a break from the game.

The Scot has been buoyed by his team’s form since January, and admits the impact of Nikica Jelavic has re-fired his own enthusiasm.

He now plans to meet with chairman Bill Kenwright next month to discover his summer transfer budget, and formulate his plan for the next phase of the club’s development under his guidance.

And asked whether the stress of 10 years in his current role would ever force him to take a time-out, he said: “No. That is not my plan and it is not in my thoughts. I will have a chat with the chairman at the end of the season and we will see where things go. It will just be a chat generally to see where we are.

“Nowadays it is a much harder job and there is a level of pressure at every club. It takes a lot of your time up. I have always enjoyed my work. Maybe some day I will come to that point but I don’t think I’m there yet.

“I thrive on the intensity and I don’t know what I would be like if I didn’t have it. I think since I was 16 or 17, I have been in football.

“The other side of it is that there can come a level, because of the intensity, where you think ‘I want to step away for a wee while’ but I don’t think I am there yet.”
