Everton FC, Steven Pienaar
STEVEN Pienaar has completed a permanent return to Everton FC.
The 30-year-old midfielder passed a medical earlier today, before a website run by his agent announced that Pienaar had put pen to paper on a four-year contract reuniting him with the Toffees.
South Africa captain Pienaar spent the second part of last season on loan at Goodison Park from Tottenham, the club he originally left for in January 2011.
But he found his chances of first-team football limited under then Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, and insisted after the season ended that he wanted to re-join David Moyes’ team.
Talks between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Bill Kenwright began shortly after the summer transfer window opened, and although at times challenging, the pair reached a compromise last week.
It is believed Pienaar will be officially unveiled as an Everton FC player again tomorrow.
