Ben O’Connor, nine, from Norris Green, was given a tour of Goodison Park after his wallet was stolen

A YOUNG Everton fan’s nightmare turned into a dream come true thanks to Goodison Park staff.

The day after his ninth birthday, all that Ben O’Connor, from Norris Green, wanted was a new EFC football kit.

But, after buying the kit from the store outside Goodison Park, Ben’s wallet containing more than £60 of his birthday money was stolen.

However, Goodison Park staff came to the rescue, inviting the upset Ben and his nan, Gillian O’Connor, into the stadium.

Mrs O’Connor said that the staff showed Ben “nothing but kindness” as they gave him signed memorabilia and two tickets (Click to find tickets) for last weekend’s match against QPR.

Ben even had the chance to play on the pitch so he could remember the day for all of the right reasons.

Mrs O’Connor said: “It just goes to show that there are lovely people out there.

“Because of people’s kindness, it turned into a day that he’s not going to forget for all good reasons.”
