Everton winger Matthew Kennedy is to join former coach Alan Stubbs on loan at Hibernian until January.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been involved with the Blues first team set up during pre-season, but will be allowed to gain further experience in the Scottish Championship.

Kennedy, who joined the club from Kilmarnock on transfer deadline day in August 2012, becomes the first youth player to follow Stubbs North of the border on loan.

He is due to return to Finch Farm on January 4. It is believed the Scotland U-21 international may be followed by several of his former academy team mates in making the temporary switch to Easter Road, as part of a reciprocal arrangement between the former Toffees U-21s boss and Roberto Martinez.
