FA CUP THIRD ROUND DRAW

Ross Barkley under pressure Ross Barkley under pressure

So Blues, what do we make of the draw? West Ham at home? We happy?
They usually say a home draw is all you can ask for, but the Hammers are a team in form at the moment, and gave the Blues a difficult test when the sides met in the league last month.
Then again, the road to Wembley has to start somewhere….

‘LIKE A PROUD FATHER’

Everton are expected to field a number of young players for their Europa League dead rubber with FC Krasnodar at Goodison on Thursday night.
The likes of Ryan Ledson and Jonjoe Kenny (above) are likely to figure, and Blues U21 coach David Unsworth says he will be proud to see his youth teamers making their mark on the senior stage.
“It’s the kind of situation which doesn’t come around very often,” he said.
“We had a similar situation in 2009 against BATE Borisov when a number of younger players were involved and I know that if any of the Under-21s are called up this time they certainly won’t let anyone down.
“I’m very relaxed about the prospect of them stepping up. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to publicise our Academy and it will be a fantastic opportunity for the lads themselves if they are called upon.
“If some of them do play I’ll be sat in the stand like a proud dad!”
