Tim Cahill has been ill and will be assessed before boss Davis Moyes names his Everton squad.
Jermaine Beckford has a knee strain and will also be checked, while Diniyar Bilyaletdinov is suspended and defender Seamus Coleman remains sidelined with an ankle injury.
Sheffield United winger Stephen Quinn picked up a knock in Saturday’s draw at Tranmere but has been passed fit.
Summer signing Ryan Flynn is rated as 50/50 following a hamstring strain.
