McFadden left Goodison Park for Birmingham in 2008
Scottish striker James McFadden is set to complete a free transfer return to Everton after undergoing a medical at the club on Monday.
McFadden missed almost the whole of last season with a serious knee injury and Birmingham chose not to offer him a new contract after they were relegated.
The Scot, 28, played 109 games for Everton between 2003 and 2008, before moving to Birmingham for £5m.
He has turned down recent offers from Wolves and Celtic.
