Beckford still has three years left on his Everton contract
Leicester City have had a bid of around £3m for Everton’s Jermaine Beckford rejected, reports BBC Radio Leicester.
It is thought Everton are reluctant to sell the 27-year-old striker, who joined the Toffees on a four-year deal in May 2010 after leaving Leeds United.
But City are expected to return with an improved offer as manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is eager to sign a forward.
The Foxes missed out on Shane Long and have been linked with a host of names, including Bristol City’s Nicky Maynard.
