Blues boss Roberto Martinez eyes giant Ivory Coast striker
Everton transfer speculation today sees Roberto Martinez reportedly lining up a loan signing of Monaco’s Lacina Traoré.
The Blues are waiting on a medical before deciding whether to finalise a loan deal for the Monaco striker for the remainder of the season.
The 6ft 8in Ivory Coast international has emerged as a transfer target for Roberto Martínez following the £6.5m sale of Nikica Jelavic to Hull City, but is currently nursing a hamstring problem that stalled a proposed move to West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have switched their attentions to Seville left-back Alberto Moreno – with Leighton Baines due to sign a new deal at Everton this week.
Moyes had two offers for England star Baines rejected by his old club in the summer, the second of which valued the full-back at £15million.
But Baines, 29, will now sign a new Goodison Park £75,000-a-week contract this week, likely to be for three-and-a-half years.
Baines has only 18 months left on his existing deal and it is a major coup for Everton boss Roberto Martinez to tie him to a long-term agreement.
Finally, Everton are reportedly keen on Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli.
The 24 year old Belgian international is apparently deemed as surplus to requirements by newly appointed White Hart Lane boss Tim Sherwood and a move from Roberto Martinez may well be accepted by the North London club.
Chadli moved to Tottenham in a £7m deal from FC Twente last summer but has struggled to retain a foothold in the Premier League side’s starting eleven, making just seven top tier starts, and a move to Goodison Park could appeal to the talented wide-man.

Rumour One
Everton are awaiting results from Lacina Traoré’s medical before deciding whether to finalise a loan deal for the Monaco striker for the remainder of the season.
The 6ft 8in Ivory Coast international has emerged as a transfer target for Roberto Martínez following the £6.5m sale of Nikica Jelavic to Hull City, but is currently nursing a hamstring problem that stalled a proposed move to West Ham United.
Sam Allardyce conceded that West Ham were “unlikely” to complete the Traoré transfer after the player received a rival offer from Everton.
But the Merseyside club, who can go fourth with victory at West Brom tonight, want confirmation on the extent of the 23-year-old’s injury before making him their fourth loan signing of the season. Everton will apply for a work permit for Traoré on Tuesday should he be sidelined for only a few weeks.
Rumour Two
Everton are reportedly keen on Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli.
The Toffees may feel the addition of depth up front could aid their push for a top four finish and Roberto Martinez may feel he can pick up Chadli for a bargain price as Tottenham look to trim their squad ahead of making possible new additions.
A move to Everton would see Chadli teaming up with national team colleagues Kevin Mirallas and loaned in Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku.
Prior to his move to Tottenham Chadli had been a big hit in Holland and may feel that warming the bench at Spurs is holding back his career progression.
