Everton FC are closing in on the permanent signature of Gareth Barry, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Barry, 33, has reportedly agreed a three-year-deal at Goodison Park, after a successful loan spell from Manchester City last term.

The newspaper claims Barry had several other Premier League offers, most notably from West Ham, but he has been signalling his intention of joining Everton ever since a proposed move to City’s New York MLS franchise was withdrawn.

And Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb say the Blues will further strengthen their side with the signing of Chelsea winger Victor Moses.

Moses spent last season on loan to Liverpool and failed to impress at Anfield.

West Brom, Southampton and Newcastle United are also said to be keen on the Nigerian international.

And finally, Georgios Samaras says he is focusing on the World Cup for now amidst rumoured interest from the Blues.

Everton, along with Sevilla, have been linked with a move for the Greek forward, who is now a free agent after his contract at Celtic expired.

“I am only thinking about the national team and nothing else for now,” said Samaras.
