Everton are expected to secure the services of Sam Byram despite a host of clubs interested in the Leeds United starlet.
It is understood that Roberto Martinez is likely to secure the 22-year-old as part of a double swoop.
The youngster is out of contract at the end of the season, which makes a potential move to Goodison Park this month increasingly likely.
Leeds will be entitled to compensation at the end of the season but the final sum would be set by a transfer tribunal.
Everton are also said to be in the hunt for promising Swiss forward Shani Tarashaj, although he is likely to be loaned back to Grasshopper Club Zurich for the remainder of this season.
