TONY HIBBERT says there are no plans for him to be on penalty taking duty for Everton FC tonight – and insists he only wants to break his scoring duck with a spectacular goal.

The 31-year-old leads Everton out against AEK Athens in his testimonial match at Goodison Park this evening, an occasion to pay tribute to his 11-year career at the club.

In over 300 appearances for the Blues, Hibbert is yet to score and it was suggested the full-back would be handed the spot-kick responsibilities for the game with AEK.

But the club’s leading appearance holder in European competition insists he remains focused only on winning the game and intends on treating this like any other pre-season fixtures he has been a part of.

The ultra-professional Hibbert says him scoring is secondary to Everton winning the match and continuing their preparations for the opening game of the Premier League season against Manchester United.

It is Hibbert’s big night but the team comes first.

“Everyone has been asking me that!” said Hibbert on taking a penalty. “The manager hasn’t said anything, nobody has. I would rather us win 1-0 than us get beat 2-1 and I score the goal. I just want us to win.
