Everton FC juror Cole Fraser: Steven Pienaar’s performance at Old Trafford showed us what the Blues were missing at Wembley

SUNDAY’S game at Old Trafford provided a fantastic 90 minutes of football.

Never have I seen an Everton side go to a top four side and attack like that. Credit to the players, who continued to chase every ball, right up to the very last kick of the game. Steven Pienaar showed us what we were missing at Wembley, whilst Fellaini and Jelavic continued their fine form.

As delighted as I was, with the performance, I couldn’t help feeling that it had come a week too late.

Fulham won’t be an easy game, but we definitely have enough to win.

Congratulations to Leighton Baines and Apostolos Vellios for their awards on Tuesday night.

Baines has been our most consistent performer over the season, whilst Vellios has shown a lot of promise.

Everton FC juror Richard Knights: With more investment, this could have been Everton’s season

‘IT’S never over until it’s over’; ‘never say never’. Mea maxima culpa.

After going to see the Sea Odyssey, I was in the pub watching the game.

When it got to 3-1, after the semi-final no-show, it was obvious that our grim history at Old Trafford was going to be repeated – last victory 20 years ago.

So apologies to the team. With Fergie giving the victory salute to the Stretford End, another title in the bag, we didn’t give up. Fellaini was unplayable, Jelavic two brilliant strikes and two assists from Tony Hibbert. Incredible. Unbelievable.

It’s been a strange season in the Premier League – the old order is changing, none of the top teams have really convinced and they can’t dominate the way they used to.

With more investment in the squad this could, and should, have been our season.
