Everton Giant set to be part of Martinez’s coaching unit.

Duncan Ferguson is to join the Everton first-team coaching set-up on a permanent basis.

The former Blues striker has been working with the Club’s Under-18 side since returning in October 2011 as assistant to Kevin Sheedy.

From next Monday though, he is set to form part of Roberto Martinez’s core backroom team alongside assistant manager Graeme Jones, first-team development coach Dennis Lawrence and goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara.

As a player, Ferguson first joined Everton in 1994 and achieved cult-hero status with the fans as he scored 72 goals in 273 appearances for the Club across two spells.

He was announced as an Everton Giant in 2011 and since returning to Goodison has impressed everyone with his coaching talent, enthusiasm and dedication.
