It is reported that Spurs will offer the Blues the chance to sign Younes Kaboul and Aaron Lennon in a deal worth over £20m for the Irish midfielder, but Everton will resist any offer for his services.
McCarthy has had an injury-hit season, but he is one of Roberto Martinez’s key men and the club would loathe to sell him.
