Everton FC are on alert with James Milner set to quit Manchester City after the World Cup, according to the Sunday People.
The paper claims the 28-year-old wants a regular first-team spot, which has alerted the Blues – as well as Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.
Milner appeared in 31 of City’s 38 league games, but started just 17.
Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez could be readying a bid for Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike, the Express reports.
The paper cites reports in Turkey which claim Everton are set to battle Manchester City and Spurs for the 27-year-old’s signature, after the Nigerian scored 12 goals in 28 games this season.
There is a suggestion that Emenike could be available for a fee in the region of £10m.
But the Express also believes the Blues could be ready to bring Lacina Traore back to Goodison Park.
The six foot eight Ivory Coast international spent the second half of the campaign with the Toffees only to feature just once due to injury.
But with his playing time at Monaco thought to be limited, the Blues could look to bring him back on loan – with either Saul Niguez or Josuha Guilavogui, both of Atletico Madrid, following him.
Martinez is also hoping to sign AC Milan youngster M’Baye Niang as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, Football News Direct claims.
The 19-year-old has spent time with Montpellier on loan this season, and could be a target for the Spanish boss.
And finally, the Sunday People have linked John Stones with a move to Chelsea.
The paper believes the London club are readying a £12m bid for the youngster, but the Blues look to be standing firm.
Is James Milner a worthwhile signing?
