Everton FC boss Roberto Martinez could move for former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato, that’s according to reports in Italy .

The Blues are searching for a replacement for the departing Samuel Eto’o, who is expecting to complete a move to Sampdoria in the coming days.

Brazil international Pato plays in his homeland for Sao Paulo and has scored 104 goals in 269 games during his career.

The 25-year-old has suffered with multiple injuries in recent seasons, but Martinez is said to be willing to take a chance on the striker should he prove his fitness.

Pato has scored 12 goals in 30 games for Sao Paulo this season.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for Cesena striker Gregoire Defrel in the Italian media today as speculation increases over the search for a replacement for Eto’o.

Defrel has scored four goals in 17 appearances this season, and the 23-year-old is said to be another option for Martinez as he looks for striking reinforcements.

Kevin Mirallas’ future is subject to much speculation as Tottenham Hotspur prepare a bid for his services, according to reports today.

Spurs are happy to take the Belgian winger to White Hart Lane, despite much criticism of the winger this week after his missed penalty in the draw with West Brom.

Mirallas has 18 months left on his Goodison contract – but Everton have the option to extend the deal further.
