Sponsorship with the Thai beverage company is currently longest serving in Premier League

An Everton FC delegation which includes Ivorian striker Arouna Kone and Blues legend Graeme Sharp arrived in Thailand on a visit to celebrate the Club’s 10-year partnership with Chang.

The sponsorship with the Thai beverage company is currently the longest serving shirt sponsorship in the Premier League. They have been Everton’s main partner since the start of the 2004/05 season, when an initial one-year deal was struck.

Kone and Sharp touched down in the country’s capital, Bangkok, on Tuesday and spent Wednesday meeting budding footballers at the Thai Bev Academy, as well as members of staff at Chang’s inner-city headquarters.

The Thai Bev Academy, a project established from Everton’s association with Chang, is one of the true success stories of the partnership.

Starting out in 2004 as a free training facility for a handful of local children, the Academy today welcomes thousands through its door each week.

Coaches from Everton also visit on a regular basis to pass on their knowledge to Thai coaches and help raise coaching standards across the country.
