Everton FC defender John Stones has a big fan in Premier League legend and World Cup winner Thierry Henry.
The former Arsenal ace revealed he ‘loves’ the way the young Blues defender plays.
Stones has already been described by Roberto Martinez as one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in European football and his cultured style has also found favour with Henry who appreciates the 20-year-old’s silky skills.
The ex-Barnsley player got caught out on Thursday night when he was sent off in Everton’s 4-1 win at Young Boys but he didn’t prompt him to adopt a more hit-and-hope style.
Henry said: “I love the fact that John Stones is composed on the ball and he isn’t scared.
“Yes, he made a mistake the other day, but I really don’t mind my centre-backs to be on the ball and try to bring it out.”
