Everton FC chairman Bill Kenwright and his partner, actress Jenny Seagrove, were among friends of Richard Attenborough attending a service in his memory at Westminster Abbey.

Theatre and film producer Bill and Jenny joined well known faces from the world of entertainment to pay tribute to Lord Attenborough who died last August at the age of 90.

The ceremony, lasting around an hour, featured a reading by the Oscar-winning director and actor’s brother, wildlife presenter Sir David Attenborough.

Sir Kenneth Branagh, Sir John Hurt, Sir Michael Caine and Dame Judi Dench were in the congregation to reflect on his career, along with politicians and stars including Dame Penelope Keith and her To The Manor Born co-star Peter Bowles, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syal, and much-loved actresses Nanette Newman, Anita Harris, Patricia Hodge and Jane Seymour.
