Barcelona wonderkid Adama Traore is on the radar of Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

The Blues boss is an admirer of the 18-year-old who is being groomed for stardom at the Nou Camp but could be available on loan.

However Everton are not expected to step up their interest in Traore until next summer where they would pursue an agreement to take the exciting winger on a season-long deal.

Martinez has won fans at the Spanish giants after the way he managed Gerard Deulofeu at Goodison last season. The 20-year-old spent last term with the Blues and instantly became a favourite with the Everton faithful, scoring four times in 29 appearances.

Barcelona are understood to have been thrilled with Deulofeu’s progress under Martinez and would be open to the idea of sending Traore to Merseyside for a season.

The Barca whizzkid has played twice for senior side and netted his first goal for the club last week in their 8-1 Copa del Rey demolition of Huesca. nd it now appears that Luis Enrique is ready to let the Spanish under-19 international further his education with a loan spell abroad.

Deulofeu, meanwhile, returned to the Nou Camp at the end of last season only to be loaned back out straight away.

The arrival of Luis Suarez from Liverpool shunted the talented Deulofeu further down the Barca pecking order and so Enrique sent him to La Liga rivals Sevilla for the season.

However, Barcelona are thought to be unhappy with the lack of game time the wideman has been given with the Europa League champions.

And reports this week claimed Deulofeu was frustrated at spending another campaign away from the Nou Camp is now looking to quit the club in summer.

Everton, linked with making a bid, are continuing to monitor the Catalan Kid’s progress. But Martinez, who wanted to extend Deulofeu’s loan into a second season, knows signing the Spain U21 star on a permanent deal is unlikely to be straightforward given the hopes Barca still have for the player.
